Library Services

Inter-Library Loan
Both public and post-secondary libraries in British Columbia participate in inter-library loans. Through the services of the Library Services Branch of B.C.'s Ministry of Communities, Aboriginal and Women's Services, patrons are able to borrow books from other provinces and sometimes even from other countries.

If you cannot find what you need in our library, please ask about inter-library loan service. Most libraries will loan from their general collections, but not reference items or periodicals.

Inter-Library Loans can be requested by patrons online.

Data Bases
The library has two data-bases available on-line:
Ebsco Host
Encyclopedia of British Columbia

Internet Access
The library has two free internet-access terminals for the general public. They are available on a first come basis for up to 30 minutes per patron per day. There is also a terminal for children and those with special needs. This terminal is available for up to 45 minutes. We partner with Industry Canada's Community Access Program to provide this service.

Hazelton Pioneer Museum & Archives
A small museum adjoined to the library tells Hazelton's history through archival photographs and displays. The Hazelton Pioneer Museum & Archives is administered by the Hazelton Area Historical Association. The museum is open whenever the library is.

The Hazelton Pioneer Museum & Archives has completed A Family Research Guide for the Hazelton Area. Click here to access it online.
